Abstract: Noise pollution is present in society's daily life since the various actions implemented by the growth of the urban and industrial structure were installed, especially after the modern era. Its effects are in fact noticeable on the health of the population exposed to environmental noise limits outside acceptable standards, its developments are the subject of several studies around the world due to the importance of this theme. In the present study, through quantitative evaluations, in a neighborhood in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, we sought to verify the decibels found in six specific points of its central area, formed by a mixed area with commercial and/or commercial predominance. administrative. In a preliminary analysis, several impacting actions were verified caused by motor vehicles, advertising sound equipment, noise from local businesses, equipment operating works, among others. Preliminary results are in non-compliance with Brazilian Technical Standard 10.151/2019, the standard that guided this study. Based on the preliminary results, an attempt will be made to prepare informative material along with society's orientation regarding the risks to which individuals are susceptible when exposed to this type of pollution, on a regular and permanent basis.

Abstract: Water is fundamental to the maintenance of life and, therefore, its quantity and quality
must be adequate for its respective uses. However, there is an increasing deterioration in the physical, chemical and biological characteristics of water resources, due to anthropogenic activities, making water monitoring essential as a form of control and support for better management of water environments. Given this, river basins are considered appropriate territorial units for assessing the implications arising from human actions. The Guandu River Basin represents great importance in the development and supply of the Metropolitan Region of the State of Rio de Janeiro, where the waters are evaluated by the State Institute of the Environment (INEA), using the National Water Quality Index model. SanitationFoundation (IQANSF), the most widespread in Brazil. However, there is a need to adapt the aforementioned index to the environmental characteristics of the Guandu River Basin, in order to express results that are more reliable to its specificities. Thus, the objective of the study was to adapt the Water Quality Index model from the State Environmental Institute (IQAINEA) to the Guandu River Basin, in order to diagnose its real water situation. To this end, the Factor Analysis technique via Principal Components and the Varimax Rotation method were used, in order to calibrate the weights of the variables indicated as relevant in the water status assessment process. In effect, IQAGUANDU-T and the recommended IQAGUANDU were developed, which were applied to samples selected from the years 2018 and 2019 from the raw data bulletins available from INEA. In this way, a comparison was made between the established indices and the index used by INEA (IQAINEA), using non parametric tests. The results demonstrated, for the most part, compliance in the categorization of water conditions in relation to IQAINEA. However, when checking only samples classified
as “bad” and “very bad”, the results showed a reduction in samples identified as “bad” and a significant increase in the “very bad” categorization regarding the results presented in
IQAINEA. Therefore, the developed indices pointed to a trend towards lower values, and,
thus, greater sensitivity in the assessment of more degraded environments in the Guandu
River Basin.

Abstract: Port systems constitute an important economic activity, making a huge contribution to
trade flows on a national and global scale. However, the implementation of these projects
influences the transformation of the local reality and the environmental dynamics, in the
planning, installation and operation of these complexes. Socio-environmental impacts, both
positive and negative, are associated with this activity. From this perspective, analyzes of land use and land cover, through the use of geotechnologies such as Geographic Information Systems, Remote Sensing and Geoprocessing, are essential in identifying impacts on the ports' areas of influence. This work sought to analyze the changes resulting from the installation of Porto Sudeste do Brasil S.A. in the neighborhood of Ilha da Madeira (Itaguaí - RJ), regarding the environmental impacts on land use and land cover, focusing on the remaining vegetation of dense rainforest and mangroves, in a temporal analysis (from 2008 to 2022), through application of the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and supervised classification, performed in the free software QGIS. The methodology of this research consisted of the acquisition of satellite images and cartographic bases, pre-processing, processing and post-processing of Landsat 5 and 8 satellite images for the years 2008, 2010, 2013, 2015, 2020 and 2022. Through post-processing of the images, descriptive statistics of the NDVIs were obtained, analysis of accuracy of classifications and comparison of changes in the study area in the analyzed period. The verification of accuracy conducted showed that the classification results were satisfactory. Furthermore, NDVI, land use and land cover and changes in land use
and land cover maps were obtained as final products. The results achieved, in both NDVI and supervised classification products, showed greater change in the landscape in 2013, the period of implementation of the port system. The analysis of the changes, between 2008 and 2022, indicated that deforestation in the region outweighs reforestation, corresponding to 6.64% of the area of the Ilha da Madeira neighborhood. The regeneration of isolated areas of forest vegetation was also observed, starting in 2015. Therefore, the research demonstrated the effectiveness of the chosen methods in identifying vegetative vigor and changes in land use and land cover patterns in the planning, implementation and operation stages of the port project. In addition, through the cartographic products, tables and analyzes generated, it is understood that the study will be able to subsidize future research as well as contribute to environmental monitoring and decision-making in the region.

Abstract: The present work is framed within the Open Science paradigm, which, catalyzed by the development of digital technologies, advocates for scientific sharing and collaboration. In this context, open government data are recognized as relevant research inputs. The Sistema Alerta Rio provides meteorological and rainfall data for the municipality of Rio de Janeiro, albeit without proper data structuring. This study employed Data Engineering techniques using Knime software, with the goal of developing a pipeline for integration, cleaning and analysis of these data, following principles of reproducibility, rigor and transparency espoused by Open Science. The curated data were consolidated into a new database (Data Staging) and made available in the Mendeley Data repository. The developed database can be used as a source for future studies, for interpretation and discussion of results, as well as for new processing steps and integration with other data sources, enabling machine learning applications.
