Abstract: Thesis statement based on the collaborative participation of youths between 12 and 18 years old, in situation of vulnerability, supported by governmental social reintegration institutions in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Combining video, photography, drawing, painting, collage and writing, by means of dialogic games, the adolescents, simultaneously subjects and objects of discourse, acted as protagonists in an emancipatory exercise in the field of subjectivity production. The use of hybrid media and formats resulted in a kind of assemblage for the investigation of languages and their possibilities for experimentation. By proposing the praxis of art as a living phenomenon, Narratives is a work in progress. The presentation of the material produced by the teenagers, organized in their sheltering institution, concluded the first cycle of this research, seeking to value their self-esteem, the potency of life and the notion of belonging. It embarks on an ethical and aesthetic positioning in relation to history and art, which must be permanently updated considering the debates on contemporary culture’s agenda. The intent is to problematize the poetic senses provoked by these small histories within history, as well as to deepen and amplify the discussions that permeate the theme of youth and exclusion, repeatedly made invisible and muted by Brazilian society

Abstract: The study aims to elucidate and explore the diverse meanings inherent in a collection of heterogeneous festive games that emerge from the (in)definition of the term "carnival street parades". It scrutinizes the contrasting discourses found in various narratives attempting to comprehend these manifestations within the context of Rio de Janeiro’s carnival. Our examination encompasses a historical survey of the festivities, spanning from the inception of the earliest festive groups adopting the label "street parade" up to the present day. The key analytical threads include the narrative construction of the city’s carnival history, discourses surrounding the party's cycles of decline and resurgence over the centuries, the impact of officialization proposals on carnival blocks (both in 1932 and 2009), and the factors leading to the establishment of specific designations for certain types of these groups. Our research is guided by the hypothesis that this collection of festive games, on the whole, represents what has "endured" from past attempts to precisely define carnival, owing to its remarkable capacity to engage in dialogues with the broader carnival experience. We assert that, rather than prioritizing the establishment of a rigid definition for "what is a street parade," it is more crucial to comprehend the diverse manifestations that self-identify as such over the years. Additionally, understanding the fluid nature of this carnival category and its ability to transform and take on new meanings in response to different interests is deemed more significant than a fixed definition. In conclusion, our findings emphasize the importance of acknowledging the dynamic character of these festive games and their capacity to evolve and adapt over time in alignment with various cultural and social influences

Abstract: The following dissertation seeks to investigate the effects of violence in different urban public policies concerning the geographic, social and political configuration of Rio de Janeiro, in its history, in order to deal with the implied relations between the symptoms of such urban reforms and the artistic creative process. I will articulate the questions concerning the thematic of habitation in the city, with a focus on the problems innate to the “gentrifying” logic in which is grounded the binomial center-periphery. Besides the theoric content, the presentation will have a selection of works done by me before and after the course of study, which I will relate, based on the theoretical framework incorporated during the program, to the thematic presented in the research

Abstract: The present investigation is primarily motivated to analyze the standardization of the gay male through heteronormativity, questioning, through the examination of the phenomenon of heteronormatized gay bodies, the processes of subject subjection and shaping to which individuals are subjected. To achieve this, we sought some of its representations in the theatrical works "Angels in America," "Homem feito," and "Tom na fazenda." Drawing from the concepts of "non-hegemonic masculinities" and "dissident sexuality," we aimed to analyze how the gay male is represented in theatrical and cinematic artistic productions. Each stereotype in its time of representation carries a different meaning. Thus, the representation of the effeminate, marginalized, and drug-using gay individual over a certain period served the purpose of ridiculing and promoting prejudice through the avenues of anomaly and pathology, in accordance with the religious, legal, and medical norms that determined social formatting. However, in response to this depreciation, the stereotype of the normalized gay was constructed, which is considered an ideal and socially tolerated profile. This representation divided opinions within the gay community because it replicates heterosexual values and moralities in those who subvert the norm in some way or for some reason
