This work deals with the formation of the Brazilian Baptist identity from the relationship of the Baptist Church of Chatuba with the Brazilian Baptist Convention, that is, with the dispute of several social groups within the Convention and with the guidelines that left there for the churches between the late 1950s and 1960s. This church's trajectory was marked by the history of the neighborhood where it is located, that of its members and by the development of Baptist work. Organized in 1958, it was consolidated around 1969, through restructuring, that is, the reorganization of its activities and internal structures. Locally, this period was marked by population growth in the metropolis of Rio de Janeiro from internal Brazilian migrations and industrial growth. At the national level, there was greater integration of the country into the world economic order and, in the middle of the Cold War, there was a political radicalization that resulted in the establishment of a civil-military dictatorship (1964). This event, which had repercussions within the Brazilian Baptist Convention, together with theological disputes, marked the denominational socio-religious dynamics of the period. Hence the importance of understanding how the Baptists understood themselves and their own social reality. Therefore, we intend to understand how, in this context, there was a reorganization of the cultural characteristics that mark the border between those considered Baptists and non-Baptists. As well as denaturalizing a certain religious identity. In theoretical-methodological terms, this research was based on the contact of two fields, that of Political History and, mainly, that of New Cultural History. We use Roger Chartier's concept of representation and the notion of identity from Michel Agier, Dennys Cuche and Tomaz Tadeu da Silva. It was possible to identify that the identity pattern built in the period was related to the dispute between missionaries from the Foreign Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention who worked in Brazil, the Movimento Diretriz Evangélica, the Movimento de Renovação Espiritual and the Movimento Neopioneiro. With the victory of the latter, supported by the missionaries, an identity pattern marked by anti- Catholicism, anti-ecumenism, anti-communism and anti-Pentecostalism was established. This pattern was disseminated among local churches, such as the Baptist Church of Chatuba, through the investment made in the structure of the denominational Religious Education, which occurred precisely at the time of restructuring the work of this church.

Abstract: The general objective of the thesis is to analyze actions associated with the construction of memory related to the War of the Triple Alliance, in the period between its end, in 1870, and the end of World War II, in 1945. Addressing memories of a war is not limited to in heroes, impressive scenes of battles and military feats of all kinds, even if they integrate such memories, especially those valued by national governments in order to institute official celebrations. Wars also mean deaths, sadness and trauma. The conflict between the Triple Alliance (Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina) against Paraguay, brought more than victory to the allies. It has brought about, mainly in Brazil, demands and questions never before imagined that caused a real turnaround in imperial politics. We also thought about how this memory was built by analyzing parties, monuments, museums, biographies, among others. Understanding the way in which the Triple Alliance War was remembered and also forgotten, examining its actors, ways of commemoration, remembrance and erasure, provides clues about the very construction of national identity and the forms of political appropriation of memory by the imperial and republican governments.

Abstract: The thesis aims to carry out an analysis of the innovations introduced in ostensive policing in the Leonel Brizola governments, when a public security policy, referring to human rights, gained concrete institutional outlines in the State of Rio de Janeiro, seeking reorient both the police bureaucracy and ostensible policing. It's about rebuilding the general lines of the effort carried out by the state government in the period and which intended to establish a police project for a Rule of Law, dismantling the agencies police officers from the influences of national security doctrine. Developed projects and ideas in the period are fundamental for the understanding of the impasses observed until today in this area fundamental for the consolidation of democracy in Brazil. To do so, we used a qualitative analysis, based on institutional sources linked to the Brizola government and the Military Police of the State of Rio de Janeiro and interviews, with an Oral History approach.

Abstract: The thesis, inserted in the PPGH Research Line on politics and culture, understands the films Anahy de las Misiones, Netto loses his soul and Netto and the horse tamer as builders of collective memory and gaucho identity, having as a unifying point the Farroupilha Revolution, in addition to natural elements and legends of the region, often characters in the works, reinforcing this historical fact as a founding myth of the identity of Rio Grande do Sul. In addition to the technical analysis of the material in question, we use theorists helping us to understand the importance of using films as producers of historical knowledge with the potential to reach a non-specialized audience.
