The research is organized in order to cover two main types of survival: that one we observe in the interior of the novel, with its monstruous and marginalized protagonist and narrator, and the kind of survival that refers to the piece, which permits Jane Eyre to survive time, being relevant still today. Therefore, in the first half of the text, the literary piece is analysed to comprehend Jane Eyre as a political body in the 19th century context, unfavorable to marginal existences. So that we can observe Charlotte Brontë’s circumstances in terms of writing and living, I raise issues concerning the obstacles of a Victorian woman. Furthermore, Jane Eyre is approached in an exploratory way in its relationship with the contemporary world and the ways in which the novel proliferates and transmutes. Thus, we present the concept of fallacy and investigate the way it is produced. As corpus, we have the following biblical texts from Paul, the Apostle: chapters seven and sixteen, Epistle to the Romans; seven, eleven, fourteen and sixteen, from the First Epistle to the Corinthians; three, from the Epistle to the Galatians; five, from the Epistle to the Ephesians; four, from the Epistle to the Philippians; three, from the Epistle to the Colossians; five, from the First Epistle to Timothy; one and four, from the Second Epistle to Timothy; two, from the Epistle to Titus and one, from the Epistle to Philemon. These texts are similar when they all discuss issues related to women’s role at home and in the church. As a base text, chapter five from the Epistle to the Ephesians, which used the guiding word “submission” was employed. This word came from a translation from the original Greek text. Interpretations of this word, out of context, contributed to the spread of stereotypes about women, stereotypes which have been used with the goal of silencing them throughout history – the lives of the philosopher Hypatia and the warrior Joana D’Arc illustrate this labeling effect. O trabalho avalia se, e em que medida, essas traduções dialogam com o pretuguês (Gonzalez, 2020), uma variante linguística culturalmente híbrida e profundamente marcada por “uma diáspora africana” no Brasil. Fundamentado em uma abordagem decolonial, o estudo retoma e reconceitua o conceito de Améfrica, ou Amefricanidade, como chave para uma perspectiva globalética de tradução (Thiong’o, 2012). Busca também examinar criticamente as expressões de Amefricanidade, ou sua ausência, nas escolhas tradutórias e de que modo elas impactam a representação da cosmopercepção igbo e de sua epistemologia cultural no português brasileiro. Além disso, esta pesquisa propõe uma práxis tradutória alternativa para textos afro-diaspóricos que rejeite o essencialismo linguístico e promova uma conversação intercultural entre as Áfricas e as Américas.
