Abstract: The current globalized, colonial and capitalistic world is becoming an increasingly intense producer of migrations. In this research, the migrations of three Afghan families were mapped as they departed from their existential territories to reach the carioca reality. In this process, they participated in interviews with the researcher, considered here as intercultural encounters. Their analyses were also intercultural. We seek to analyze the forces and procedures involved in the processes of subjectivation of the departure from the country of origin, Afghanistan, located in Asia, around the Middle East, as well as the arrival in the Latin American country, Brazil. In these intercultural encounters, we reflected on concepts such as the sense of belonging, nationality, refuge, and the migrations that are present before and after displacement. We also analyzed intercultural vectors that were presented, such as food, music, religion, languages, and relationships, which were present and led to a greater wealth of analyses, reflections, and stories. The critical, political and, at the same time, affective and creative commitment to psychosocial cartography was a pillar element of the research and its writing.

Abstract: This work presents an ethnography of a particular socio-political scenario in which psychoanalysis is inserted, analyzing the transformations and challenges that emerge with the growing psychoanalytic production today, both events and research productions focused on social and political issues, linking government agencies, universities and social movements. Based on the emergence of social and university collectives that practice and re-signify psychoanalysis in these new contexts, the study sought to understand, through participant observation at events and conversations with strategically placed interlocutors, how this movement is configured, what questions emerge and how these interlocutors experience and reflect on this path. We have tried to construct two typologies, one of embarrassments and the other of crossroads, to try to account for the movement of ruptures from canonical and established psychoanalysis, towards the construction of psychoanalysis that swings and transforms itself in the face of movements that denounce racism, sexism, ableism, class differences, among so many structures that produce social inequalities and the deaths of some bodies, subjects and epistemes.

Abstract: Parental practices are important aspects related to children’s development. Many biological and environmental factors may impact parental behaviors; among those, the presence of two or more children in the family’s core and primary caregivers’ socioeconomic status are highlighted. The current research’s goal was to investigate the most preferred parental practices of mothers of two or more children, besides verifying the possible associations between parental behaviors and family’s socioeconomic status. 33 adult participants answered semi structured interviews that discussed their own perceptions of parenting. In Study 1, primary caregivers’ reports were analyzed through Word Cloud and Descending Hierarchical Classification (DHC) methods. The classes generated by the DHC analysis were named as: 1) the influence of children’s similarities and divergences on parental practices; 2) understanding and response to primary care needs; 3) parental practices related to sensibility; 4) the relationship between parental characteristics and offspring’s birth order. It was verified that maternal figures reported treating their children differently by taking into consideration their ages and specific needs. It was also evidenced that the primary caregivers prioritized the behaviors associated with sensibility and care. The second study evaluated the relationship between socioeconomic status and parental practices through the Specificity analysis. Higher socioeconomic status was related to differential treatment and to the parental practices associated with the authoritative parenting style. Whilst the reports mothers with lower socioeconomic status focused more on the difficulties of parenting and the practice of primary care. The conduction of qualitative studies highlighted how Brazilian maternal figures of more than one child feel and behave in different social contexts.

Abstract: This research leans over the time notion beyond its mathematical scope of an “accounting chronology” and localized by in the time marked on the clock or calendars. The main concern of our study lies in the way temporality appears in contemporary times, a historical period consolidated in its bases from a political-marketing perspective that produces a destructive frenzy to the time of experience and bond. The reverberations that appears in micro and macro scales of our lives, we call it “hegemonic temporality”: the infeasibility of pauses, the historical and ancestral erasure of memories and knowledge and yet, the overlay of the “presenteeism” in its longing for discard and fleeting replacement - tools of alterity’s destruction. Therefore, our paper calls into question the hegemonic temporality which constitutes together with the contemporary movements through the transcultural dialog with the Jean Paul-Sartre’s philosophy of existence, the japanese notion of Ma (間) and the cinema of animation of the japanese director Hayao Miyazaki. This way, our methodology is built from the dialogue of phenomenology and its theoretical tools, at the same step that produces a bridge between the dimension of experience and the film making and extra-film of Miyazaki, unveiling another proposal for understanding time. When we think about existence and time in the notions presented by Sartre in his works, it is unveiled that there is not a determination or a reason to the human existence, but this would occur in a situation, namely, in the recognition of historicity of the surrounding world that crosses us, making it emerge the matters that we should deal in front of the existential engagement, putting on stage an idea of a communicant time, in which the temporal ek-stases (past, present and future) occur while simultaneous dimensions, an species of relational integrality. The japanese notion of Ma (間), which we dialogue alongside the works of Michiko Okano, present to us an idea of “space-in-between” or “interspace”, unveiling another comprehension of time and space, as well another way of relating with those. In this context, the Hayao Miyazaki’s cinema, through Spirited Away, appears as our main companion in the construction of this search field. His works are viscerally engaged in the contemporary, otherwise, his movies and manga are attentive to existential and political issues of our historical clipping. Whether by his artistic approach or the narrative rhythm of his works, time, in our perspective, is a main theme in Miyazaki's films. Therefore, his movies supports us to suspend the hegemonic temporality and glimpse new routes in order to comprehend our relation with time through a return to the sensitive dimension, which past, present and future can be read as an affective-existencial confluency, laying down in the alterity horizon, resisting to the fragmented narratives that separate us from others and of the world. The build of a counter-hegemonic temporality passes through a historic-politic-existential layer set together with an implied and situated positioning front the spatiality that surrounds us.
