Abstract: This study discusses the use of news as an educational resource in&#xD;
Geography teaching, exploring its potential as well as the challenges it may pose for teachers and students. News constitutes the object of study, and the main objective is to problematize its incorporation as a linguistic repertoire into Geography teaching. Among the specific objectives is the development of an educational resource in the&#xD;
form of a thematic agenda, with suggestions for analytical practices and critical approaches to news content. The theoretical framework draws on contributions from authors such as Francisco Fernandes Ladeira, who discusses approaches to Geography and geopolitics in the media, as well as the relationships between media discourse and school Geography. The work of geographers such as Wenceslao&#xD;
Machado de Oliveira Jr., who reflects on the use of different languages and images in Geography teaching, also forms part of this theoretical framework. The educator Rosa Maria Bueno Fischer, whose work addresses the relationships between media, television, and education, is another important reference. Additional theoretical contributions were drawn from fields beyond Geography, particularly from Communication Studies, including the work of Sandra Helena Dias de Melo, who&#xD;
discusses objectivity and claims of impartiality in the news production process, as well as manipulation and its impacts. This qualitative study employs bibliographic research, literature review, and documentary analysis, involving both an examination of academic production and an analysis of news content. The study has a propositional character and aims to contribute to a better understanding of news and media organizations, including the ways in which they operate in the production of news and the complexities involved in this process.

Abstract: This dissertation is situated within the field of Geography Education and addresses the relationship between territorial appropriation and the construction of contextualized pedagogical practices. It is based on the understanding that the teaching of Geography, when disconnected from students' local reality, tends to lose its meaning. The main objective of this research was to develop a Cultural Passport as&#xD;
an educational resource for the city of Porto Real (RJ), adopting pedagogical tourism as a methodological strategy. The research follows a qualitative approach with an exploratory nature and is grounded in a bibliographic review on Geography Education,&#xD;
territory, and pedagogical tourism, articulated with the socio-spatial characterization of the municipality of Porto Real, considering historical, demographic, economic, and educational aspects. Based on this framework, an educational product was developed, consisting of a structured visitation itinerary, activity proposals, didactic guidelines, and systematization suggestions, organized into stages of preparation, experience, and reflection. As a result, the Cultural Passport of Porto Real is presented as a pedagogical tool that integrates theory and practice, values local heritage, and strengthens students' connection with the lived territory. It is expected that this resource contributes to expanding methodological possibilities in Geography teaching,&#xD;
especially within the context of basic education.

      <title>O currículo de Geografia e o território como instância educativa: o caso de uma escola no/do campo de Nova Iguaçu - RJ</title>

Abstract: This dissertation investigates how the geographical imaginations of students from a municipal public school located in Jaceruba - a rural-metropolitan area of Nova Iguaçu, Rio de Janeiro, that, although officially recognized as a countryside school, follows the standardized&#xD;
curriculum of the municipal school system - are constructed. Its general objective is to understand the influence of the Geography curriculum on the meanings that students produce about the territory they inhabit, their ways of life, and themselves, and, based on this understanding, to develop a proposal for curricular intervention that values the formative&#xD;
potential of this territory. Adopting a qualitative and exploratory approach, the research draws on the notion of the curriculum as a scalar social construction (Silva Júnior), the concept of&#xD;
geographical imaginations (Massey), the perspective of used territory (Santos), and the understanding of territory as an educational instance (Marino). Methodologically, it relied on the analysis of the municipal curriculum document and on semi-structured interviews with&#xD;
classes from the final years of Elementary School, whose responses revealed an ambivalent relationship between the students and their place - affectively valued, yet projected as a space to be left behind. As an educational product, a pedagogical notebook for curriculum adaptation was developed, organized into ten lesson plans that take Jaceruba as their starting point and tension the limits of the Brazilian National Common Curricular Base (BNCC). The application&#xD;
of one of these plans, devoted to cultural heritage, showed that anchoring Geography teaching in the territory fosters the students' shift from the condition of passive recipients to that of subjects legitimized to produce knowledge and to attribute value to their own territory,&#xD;
reaffirming the territory as a condition for learning in contexts of countryside education.

      <title>Estudo das paisagens e o ensino de geografia: população e problemas socioambientais nas lagoas do município de Maricá/RJ</title>

Abstract: The study of landscapes can significantly contribute to the teaching of&#xD;
Geography in Basic Education. Reading landscapes provides students with the opportunity to develop a set of skills, such as observation, recording, analysis, and comparison, contributing to a better understanding of the object of study, especially if it refers to their local reality. The landscapes of the municipality of Maricá (RJ) have&#xD;
undergone intense transformations in recent decades, especially due to the significant process of urbanization and population growth. One of the consequences of this growth is the environmental pressure imposed on the municipality's lagoons. Therefore, this research questions what socio-environmental problems present in the Maricá lagoon system and its surroundings could be mobilized in the teaching of Geography, and how the study of landscapes can assist in working with these themes&#xD;
in schools. The aim is to contribute to answering these questions by developing a teaching booklet, a field trip itinerary, and a game that links the municipality's population growth to the socio-environmental problems observable in the lagoons. This will be based on a literature review of information regarding the municipality's population dynamics, the characteristics of the lagoon system, its uses and observable&#xD;
socio-environmental problems, and the biodiversity present in the lagoons and their surroundings.
