“Estupro culposo”: a representação de Mariana Ferrer à luz dos pressupostos da Linguística Sistêmico-Funcional

Abstract

The present study proposes to observe the representation of women through the analysis of the judicial testimonies of the judicial sentence of the young Mariana Ferrer who, in two thousand and eighteen, registered a police report reporting having been drugged and raped in an establishment of luxury in Florianópolis/SC. Thus, the main objective is to analyze, based on the transitivity system, how it is represented through the selection of processes and thematic roles present in the text from the account of the accused, businessman André de Camargo Aranha. The theoretical framework is based on the works of Halliday and Matthiessen (2014) and Fuzer and Cabral (2014), in the light of the contribution of Systemic-Functional Linguistics, which describes and analyzes the language from the potential choices of the enunciator. The methodology adopted involves quantitative and qualitative procedures that, with the help of the Concord tool of the Wordsmith Tools program, we selected the statements that refer to Mariana Ferrer and proceeded to the classification of the processes and participants related to the term. Based on the data of the 1298 sentences analyzed, we conclude that, in the legal discourse, the analysis of the lexicogrammatical choices made by the speakers in favor of their points of view revealed the relationship that the discursive representation of women in society dialogues with all social values of our culture and tend to reaffirm a pattern of behavior that meets socially established models.
