A face guerreira das iabás Obá, Euá e Oiá: articulação entre mito e representação

Abstract

The research intends to go toward on an investigation of the symbolism of african - Brazilian religious art from a study in Ile Omiojuaro in Nova Iguaçu, Rio de Janeiro, house of the Iyalorisha Mother Beata de Iemanjá, analyzing the myths and representative forms of orishas Obá, Euá and Oiá and the visual arts produced for them by artists who are inspired by mythology to make his compositions. Through visits to religious Candomble and supported by the literature on this issue, draw a mythological way as to facilitate the reading of these traits warriors of the orishas of the feminine energy, and by interviewing artists, establish a symbolic relation between myth and representation of works that keep the warlike characteristics of these orishas seeking to understand how each symbol bearing explain their archetypal warriors, and try to understand the dynamics of creation in the religious context and also how it influences the behavior for the aesthetics of women who understand that daughters these orishas.
